Alistair Young ("The Cerebrate"): software developer and systems administrator,
Speaker-to-Electricity, ardent bibliophile, unrepentant elitist, technarchist, polymath,
gamer, worldbuilder, epicure, rationalist, practicing hesperophile, recent US immigrant, transhumanist,
aspiring post-Singularity superintelligence - indeed, veritable demiurge upon this Earth.... What more need be said?
Well, except that this half of this site is his personal web site; come in
and visit. If you were looking for his software, technical notes, or other
things produced under the Arkane Systems
name, it would be best to visit that site directly.
(However, as the photograph opposite demonstrates, he is not yet a giant sessile
brain ruling over hordes of infinitely obedient minions with a mere thought and
an iron hand. However, as he says, "That's not for lack of trying!")

The remainder of this page is a grand miscellany of things that are about me, or that I find
interesting, or occasionally, that I just randomly stuck here. Larger things in those
categories can be found on this page's children, to your left, or in my
Notebook. Stay and browse for a while,
why don't you?

My Message For Humanity
I have a message for the world, too. You can see it over there on the right hand
side of this page.
It's amazing how many problems in the world today boil down to this - a simple lack of
thinking. Especially when coupled with a superabundance of feeling. Now, I have
nothing against feeling. In the right place, feeling is a jolly good thing.
Unfortunately, the right place is almost inevitably not where most people use it.
More follows, later. In the meantime, have some Greek text.
